HEED® Current Utilization Efficiency
Current utilization efficiencies should be >70% for efficient use of ED
for desalting typical brackish water feeds, and current utilization decreases
as the product water concentration decreases. The following graph shows that
HEED® provides excellent current utilization efficiencies (>90%) over
a wide range of product water concentrations. The graph also
shows that good
current utilizations are achieved even when producing high quality product
(<5 mg/L Cl-).
